Health Concerns // Obesity and Weight Loss // Vegan Weight-Loss Success Stories

Leah

A little more than two years ago, I weighed more than 200 pounds. I had trouble breathing, and I was always sick. I tried diet after diet, but I never had the success that I’d hoped for. After hearing a radio program about vegetarianism, I decided to look into it. I visited GoVeg.com, and after seeing the suffering that animals raised and killed for food are forced to endure, I immediately decided to make the switch.

I had no idea how much eating meat was hurting me physically. All of today’s biggest killers—including heart disease, strokes, diabetes, and cancer—have been linked to a meat-based diet. I knew I was headed down the wrong path. After I went vegan, I lost weight almost immediately. Plus, I didn’t feel winded anymore, and my health problems seemed to melt away with the excess pounds. It’s the easiest “diet” I’ve ever been on—I saw results right away. I didn’t have to restrict how much food I ate, and I didn’t have to compulsively work out. My family members were a little shocked at first because they didn’t know what to expect, but they’ve been completely supportive ever since they’ve seen how my quality of life has improved. I’ve lost more than 60 pounds, and I’ve never felt better. I am more outgoing, focused, and energetic. Going vegan was the best choice I’ve ever made.
